Rejetting carbs
24 Feb 2017 13:44
I've got a 82 kz750 ltd all stock except a 4 to 1 Kerner exhaust and some cone air filters. I have no knowledge of rejetting carbs, is there a specific setup anyone knows I should use or is this something I'll have to mess around with til it gets just right?

Assuming your bike has the stock CV type carbs plan on a lot of messing around trying to get them working as well as they would with the airbox. Ed

650Ed speaks the truth, but if you have no hope of getting the stock setup, or you are determined to make your current setup rideable, a Dynojet Stage III kit will get you in the ballpark.

Use the DynoJet jet kit, It has all the jets and needle jet along with complete instructions.
There are only 3 Individual filters available in the U.S. that are worth using. They are K&N,
UNI, and APE. The others have a restriction that will mess with the air flow.

That sucks cause I actually just bought the air filters because I thought they looked nice and I heard it would help with performance. I hate to put the air box on and have just wasted the money

You can probably recoup most of the money spent on the pods by selling them on ebay. As far as pods improving performance - I don't think so on a stock street bike. On a race bike that is constantly running in the top end of the power band - maybe if things are tuned properly, but no one rides that way on the street. Ed
