750/4 Airboxes was created by Nessism
I'd like to add airbox covers on my 750E. Later year bikes had them to dress up the appearance of the airbox. As near as I can figure there are two different shapes, those for the shaft drive 750's and those for the R1/L model bikes, but I'm not sure which if either would fit my bike. I'm thinking the shaft drive version but looking for confirmation. The difference seems to be the shape at the top; the shaft drive airbox version seems more pointy at top and the R1/L airbox covers are wider, suggesting a deeper airbox?
Input appreciated.

Think I figured this out...
The R1/L airbox caps square off and terminate just above the ribs on the airbox. The Spectre airbox covers extend all the way up to the top of the airbox so the caps are taller. I think all the bikes use the same airbox.

Someone over at the KZ650.info site posted some photos comparing airboxes & his pics indicated that the shaft drive airboxes were different from a 750 chain drive, but I don't recall what chain drive model or in exactly what way. I think it was the air filter housing area --- the shape was different. Before then, I would have thought all 750-4 airboxes were basically the same.
Partzilla indicates that the 750-F1/N1/N2 shaft and 750-R1/L3 & 700-A1/A2 chain drive models have the same airbox. Using eebbaayy, I would try comparing one or two of those to the 750E.

I've been looking at photos of all the different airboxes. One thing I've noticed is that they all have the same numbers molded into the front top: KH1 A 019. I'm assuming this means the front part is the same. Hope so anyway.

Have wanted to do the same with my 82 kz750 ltd h3 spectre covers look like they would fit but haven't taken the plunge and purchased covers yet.
