RS34-RS40 Pilot Air Jet-Pilot Jet Relationship

For my beauteous RS34 carbs, Mikuni offers BS30/97 Air Jet sizes that range from .5 to 2.0 in increments of .1
Mikuni suggests that increasing the Air Jet size will lean the fuel/air mix, and decreasing size serves to enrich it.

By changing the Pilot Jets one-step from 17.5 to 20 and leaving the .8 Pilot Air Jets alone, I have now created a slightly rich condition, which I assume will be corrected by increasing the Pilot Air Jet size.
My thinking for approaching the situation from this direction is that the larger air and fuel passages will provide increased fuel atomizing, and a wider range of fine-tuning capability.

Thoughts pleeze...anyone? :)

Dropped the Pilot Air Jets to .7 from .8 after trying .9 to trial the effect, with the 20 Pilot Jets...

.9 idle was erratic, and since I was getting occasional popping on deceleration with .8, I switched over to the .7 which seems good at this point. Idle is smooth, starting is easier, and the power comes-on like krazzzzzzzzzzzzz. :)
Thanks
