1983 Kz550 Gpz H2 Jetting Help was created by kosh3rhalal
greetings,
I have a Gpz getting dialed in, but need help with some jetting issues im having.. Running a stock airbox with Uni Air Filter and Mac Headers and Exaust. Right Now the bike is running lean but starts with no problem.. i messed around with the idle adjustment knob and it ran worse before i took the carbs off. Is anyone out there running a simiar setup? I was thinking to adjust the clip to run richer or possibly adjust air/idle screws? Thanks ya'll

loudhvx has a motorcycle stuff page with a lot of 550 info, but I'm not sure if he has much info on the cv carburetors. He has a ton of info in regards to the TK22 carbs. see links in the signature at the bottom of his replies.

Sorry, I don't have any tips on the TK26 CV carbs, but, I will say, when I put a Mac system on an 81 Gpz 550, with stock motor, airbox, and filter, I did have to upjet the pilot and raise the needle about a half step, otherwise it would run like shit. The Mac seems to flow a lot more at idle and low RPMs, but not so much at high RPMs ( I think I kept the stock main jet).

A Kerker on the other hand could get away with stock pilot and needle, and maybe only needed a slight bump up on the main.
