Hey all! New to the forum (and motorcycle maintenance) (obviously). I recently came to possess two kz400s, one 76' D3 and one 75' B(?). This forum thus far has been a wealth of information but I do have one question I haven't come across an answer to.

With both bikes came one set of carbs, the newer CV32, which from what i read came on models from 77' and on. I am trying to restore the D3 model first, Will the CV32s function or do I need to find a set of CVB36s?

I come armed only with ignorance and a willingness to learn. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Better off sticking with whats suppose to go on the bike from stock and stay with stock jetting unless pods then 15% larger jets but that would be just the start of your tuning with pods. Itll be a lifelong journey.

I'd bet that the 32s will work just fine.

Pretty much make any carb work just a matter of finding a way. Thats the fun part. Hell you could make a carb from a beer can a nozzle and a hose lol.
