All of a sudden one of my cylinders stopped firing.
I've done about everything I can think of.
I've taken apart the carbs and cleaned them .
Set the floats.
Tried turning the mixture screw but it doesn't seem to make a difference on either of the carbs.
Changed my petcock out from a vacuum one to a gravity one (My old pet cock was acting up and I figured it was just easier to eliminate the vacuum as my issue.) Capped the old vacuum port.
I have spark but changed the spark plugs any way.
Compression checked both cylinders and I'm to spec.
If I take my air pods off the one cylinder still fires but if I choke the air with my hand (on the cylinder that doesn't fire) it fires.
Which makes me believe it's not getting enough gas.
But if i loosen the screw on the drain for the bowl gas comes out.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried changing spark plug leads to see if the problem follows the plug wire?

Yea however the problem stays with the cylinder not the wire.

Sounds like a leaky exhaust valve or camshaft to valve/shim clearance issue... As in too tight and holding the valve open.
Do you adjust the valve lash?

Oops I see you said compression check was good.

With the engine running at a slightly fast idle, can you see if a very small shot of carb cleaner in the guilty cylinder's carb, speeds the engine up?

You know I tried this with starter fluid but I don't remember the outcome once I get home that's the first thing I'll do and I'll post the outcome. Thanks.

Ok so I took the carbs apart again and instead of matching th floats I just made the dead side a good amount more rich and sure enough it's firing. I'm going to play with it some more. I'm not sure why all of a sudden this would happen or why if the floats don't match they don't work but it's working now.
