Keihin 746D Carb Rebuild Kit

Anyone know where I can get a Keihin 746D dual carb rebuild kit? Helping a friend rebuild his bike. He says it's a 1972 KZ400 but I cannot find a carb rebuild kit for that year/model.

Ebay. Seach for KZ400 carb kit. It comes full, slow pilots, main jets, orings, needle, fuel mixture screw, etc. 2 kits for about 24usd...pretty cheap.

9/10 "carb kits" are full of inferior aftermarket brass jets that may or may not match the originals. Only in extreme cases where there is a lot of damage can the original parts not be reused after cleaning.

I'd encourage you to fully break down the carbs. Yes, that means unganging them. And soaking all the various hard parts in carb dip. Then take a proper inventory by inspecting everything. 9/10 all you need are new O-rings and maybe float bowl gaskets.

In General, do you guys recommend buying rebuild kits or tearing down and seeing what you need?

chances are half the stuff you can re-use.. but when distributors are selling a kit for $30 or w/e and 1 float needle for $10 or making you buy bulk like Z1 and their float bowl gaskets..
