Ok guys short and sweet. I've got the stock CVs on my Unitrack 750, nothing wrong with them they work great, I just want to upgrade to flat slides. So, opinions on what model carb I should get and where to get them? Tuning advice would be welcome as well. Thanks!

Is the engine stock? If so, I doubt that putting bigger carbs on it will improve overall power by much; in fact they may reduce low to midrange power. Ed

It's stock for now with the exception of a custom exhaust I'm building for it. But eventually I want to turn this thing into a street/strip bike. Overbore, cams, head porting, the works. Also, I don't necessarily want BIGGER carbs I'd just like to swap to mechanically operated slides instead of the CVs

mechanical carb's flow more air then a cv type carb. so you don't need a bigger carb.
A 31 mm FCR flat slide or a 31 mm round slide CR Special would work nice on a built 810 cc motor
I'll be replacing my VM29's with one or the other after I do cams.

Myself I think you should build the motor first before you spent $600 to $800 on a set of
carb's that might not work well with how you built the motor.

What year is your GPZ? I am currently working on an '88 model and am losing my mind trying to get the airbox boots onto the carbs and then keeping them there with those cruddy weak springs. I know on the KZ stuff the airbox is there to stay to limit tuning headaches and more necessary on the CV type but I am ready to try pods anyway. Have you been running the airbox on the stock carbs?

Mine is an 83. And I hear you about the air boots. I honestly had mine taped on for a while
Right now I've jetted my carbs for pods and I'm building a kind of intake manifold for them. If it works good I'll post pictures and a how to on here. Good luck with yours.

The rubbers are pain . I drop the wife's blow dryer in the air box and heat them up for a while . Seems to soften them up .
