I finally got my tank back and installed the pingle petcock today.
Heres where im at.
Lift the choke lever and touch the starter it cranks .
warms up fast with no popping or crackin like it had and im able to move the choke down fairly fast and
It idles smooth.1000-1100 rpms
runs down the hwy with no stumbles and pulls like it should
I did a hole shot and run through the first 3 gears at 9 grand had to get out of it ( was running out of road lol)
made me smile from ear to ear.
if im in town traffic or say slow down and make a turn im getting a slight stumble as i just crack the throttle.
im talking that first 1/8 of throttle turn then it clears and goes smooth .
I didnt pull a plug to see how they are burning yet but my friend who builds these pumpers a lot said i may need to either try turning my air screws in a 1/4 turn or maybe adjusting the pumper rod so it has less spray.
any thoughts are appreciated .

Possibilities could include issues with insufficient valve clearances and/or imperfect pilot circuits.

 Are the carbs manual slide with side-located pilot air screws, similar to the following?

yes they have the air screws on the side much like your photo. They are the VM 28mm pumpers that came stock on the bike.
I just adjusted the valves so i feel thats ok.and the carbs have been apart and cleaned not only buy me but i took em to my friend because some of the pump parts were missing and he cleaned and checked all the circuits also.
I set all the screws at 1 1/4 initially and adjusted each after some riding by ear and watching the tach at low idle to get the best idle i could.
i checked them all a couple of time and they are all very close to 1 1/4 .

Here's a method to clean the pilot circuit using pressurized carb cleaner spray.

Wear eye protection because the spray always backfires. Always.

If not already done, clear tube tests should be performed to assure that fuel levels are within specs.

Setting idle mixture screws for best idle often means they are slightly lean under load, try a 1/4 turn open more and see.

Figured it out . Im actually running the screws at 3/4 - 7/8 out instead of 1 1/4 . no stumble!!
And its smooth as silk in all ranges .
DGA you were right.
