VM22's have an air bleed at 10 0-clock those don't have it.
VM29's do not have the rib's.
I have read there was an add on pump for the vm carb's I'd bet thats what you have
Myself I'd find a set of carbs and not run those as parts may be APITA to find.

I would investigate removing the pump. Since it appears to be an add-on, getting rid of it may not be too problematic. After removing the nozzles & if the holes are threaded, you could install some brass plugs. Or the pod filters may sufficiently block the holes, so you may not need to plug them. ???

I'd NEVER spray from the air box side of a carb. I've seen slide's freeze
wide open doing that.

So they are VM24's. The others I was referring to are not Vm29's but 26's. As was mentioned, on the advice of wired George I found a set of non accelerator pump 26's and that solved all my problems on my KZ1000. I didn't realize there was an add on pump like this so I'll just remove and see what happens. These have adjustable pilot and air screws so I should be able to make them work. I am just going to clean it up and get everything running. No plans to race or too many highway trips as i have bigger bikes for that. Thanks for all the input.

Once I get it running good without the pump I'll get rid of. I'll get you more photos then.
