Leaking Fuel Level Switch
01 Nov 2015 11:48
Switch is leaking where the grommet goes through the center of the base. I'm soaking it in fuel in an attempt to swell the seal.
Has anyone ever repaired one of these things by increasing compression on the seal? I'm a little afraid to try since the plastic terminal piece may crack.
The original part seems discontinued, but there are some similar parts that are still offered. I assume the only difference is the height that the bob stick up. Cost is about $100 so not thrilled about purchasing new unless there is no decent alternative option.
At any rate, has anyone else experienced this problem and what did you do to fix it?

This might be a false alarm. After soaking the unit for a few hours it was just installed back into the tank and isn't leaking. Going to test outside for a while but the swelling of the seal may have got it.
