Carb 1981 kz750E delayed throttle responce

So I cleaned the carbs a little to get it running for the last couple weeks of the riding season here in Wisco. Anyways, when i accelerate sometimes it really boggs down like it is not getting enough gas only to jump a couple seconds later. idles great and runs fine when you dont hit the throttle. Maybe the petlock not keeping up? Any ideas to focus on when winter comes?

Have you checked the diaphragms?

Is the bike stock? Is the maintenance alll up to date? Realize that changes to the airbox mandate rejetting.

Stock with no rips. Exhaust leaks a little.
