petcock question was created by Terryb505
hey guys, quick question, on my '78 kz1000 the vacuum line from the petcock to the carburator is clear and i see some fuel in it, is this normal or should it be void of fuel. wondering if i need to rebuid the petcock as it has never been touched.
thanks for all repleys...

There should be no fuel in it. If the fuel is coming into the tube from the petcock something is amiss with the diaphragm in the petcock. Ed

I have had no luck in finding a rebuild kit for my 78kz1k. The ones I bought did not fit so I had to buy a new peacock which worked fine. Let me know if you find one that fits.

Hi try Z1 enterprises or Siriusconic.com. Look under petcocks and pumps and match the photos to your petcock. A photo is worth a 1000 words. :)
