Going up a grade in gas probably wouldn't hurt either.

My wife asked me if I still loved her - I said "Honey, I love you more than new carburetor boots ! "

If you read the original road tests, and read the posts from current owners, you will understand cold-bloodedness !
I run a K&N filter, stock airbox with the bottom of the air inlet cut off to whee it only sticks down 3/4", and what's left is riddled with holes, and 118.5 main jets. It warms up much faster, and while it probably doesn't make any more power, it doesn't make any less either.

I used to believe that too but methodically going thru the enrichment circuit, richening up the pilots and adjusting the carbs with a Colortune made my cold running problems go away.

I'm at 42 right now with the fuel screws set with a colortune. Like I said it, it has never run better.
