Hello , been awhile. I have an LTD1000/1327 low compression. 3x cams 900 falicon crank. 29mm smoothebores. I have 125 mian jets way too lean. Gonna try 135's. I bought 36 mm flats but they turned out to be junk. Are my 29's capable for that motor? The reason why my big block is low compression is I'm going with a ray Jay turbo next year. Missing a couple pieces for that. Just wondering if anyone heard of running 29's on big blocks...

The 29mm smoothbore came stock on KZ1000's up until I believe 1978 or 1979. These guys make a kit to upgrade performance by increasing main jet size, modifying air flow through carb, and re-setting/re-placing the slide needle.

You may want to talk with their tech folks to see what options they have available.

KZ900-KZ1000 ... I think 76', 77', and 78' were all VM26SS 26mm carbs, .... yes? No?

Yes except I believe the '78 Z1R had VM28's.

They'll work but tuning them for low compression could be a trial. Don't ask me how I know. What is it. Stock 1015 is 8.5/1.
