BS34 for ZN1100 shaft - figure out this one
28 Aug 2015 20:11
Bought a 1985 ZN1100 shaft LTD Canadian model, it came with a 4 to 1 exhaust
Cleaned the carbs and petcock - to my surprise here are the main jet I found
122.5. 122.5, 120, 127,5… Come on previous monkeywrencher… This is probably why the former owner told me he got the pistons changed lately.
Can't find the exact jetting for main jet, I have a shop manual for KZ/Z1100A/D/L 81 to 83 , stated main jets vary from 117,5 to 120 and the jet needle and needle jet I have don't match the manual information
At least the needle jet and jet needle all match... here is what I have
Jet needle: 5C48
Needle jet: Y-5
Can someone hook me up with the right stock jetting info. I need a starting point because I'll rejet for pods + exhaust. Kawasaki parts only say 92063a/w, there are a lot of letters between a and w, and as much possibility to have bad jetting and melt aluminum.
Here is the only information I believe is close to truth: www.2wheelpros.com/oem-parts/kawasaki-je...92063-1100-part.html which would be 127,5
Help pretty please.

Buy a Dynojet kit and be done with it. Make sure to get real K&N's or pods from APE. Those cheap Emgo pods are JUNK! Also realize that the reason pods flow more air than stock is because pods don't filter the air as well.

I got UNI filters, I got rid of the stock box.
ZN1100 are not very popular bikes to modify (although they're just shafted KZ's in reality and it will make a nice rat), I'll look into dynojet, but still i'd rather try to tune it myself so I'll look for stock jetting also

My '83 1100 Spectre has 125 mains and seems to be very close, even with stock airbox and exhaust. I did raise the needles about .100" and it liked that too.

Got me some EBC jets so stick around if you wonder, like me, if they do good.
Thanks DGA, from the 125 you recommend, my current setup (Uni pods + generic 4-1) and the 127.5 I found, I decided to to +2 steps on main so 132.5 is in, plus a +1 step over stop for pilot and one step on the needle.
Let's see-hear-smell-feel what it will do… if I can get those stupid clip ons to fit with the stock throttle mechanism, dang. why am I such a poser.
