TIME TO TRADE IN THE PEDALS FOR SOME POWER
KZ440 C carb problems was created by jsnabbs
Hi there guys,
I have a couple of carb problems, the first is trying to find out what carbs im actually running. I have a kawasaki KZ440c and live in germany, from the research ive done these have different carbs to all other models. as the carb boots were old i replaced them, the problem is the carb boot opening is too big for the carb, and i really have to crank down on them to get them to seal. Is there a solution that i could do to make this carb, carb boot combo work? maybe an insert or wrapping the carb with something to bring the diameter up a bit?
as you can see from the pictures im running K&N filters and a 2-1 exhaust with a muffler on the end
Second is, at idle its running really nice, but when put under load its a bit laggy, open up the throttle whilst riding and it just isnt responsive.
I've looked at the sparkplugs and its running rich, a mechanic has adjusted the air mixture screw but its still too rich. is it time to look at re jetting it?
The jets at stock are
Main jet
primary #70
secondary #85
Air jet
primary main #150
secondary main #60
pilot #115
where should i look at going from here?
Thanks for any help
