I have never run across a needle with his profile before, looking at pictures of bs34cv needles they always have a gradual taper, would these be from a performance kit? I am thinking of putting g in some 5IX11 needles in place of these, anyone have experiance with alternate needles?

That's definitely not the stock needle. The U.S. models all have needles with fixed clip position. The number is 5GN45.

I suggest ditching the pods and getting the proper rubber boots for the airbox, they're only $40-$50, and they're guaranteed to work.

Hmm yeah probably funky needles. I changed my pilots to 40s and left the 127.5 mains . I kept the stock needles. It feels really crisp now and my idle mixture screws are roughly 1 3/4 turns out. And thanks I am interested in a few police bike parts!
