I blew out two Doremi gauges. Had to go with a Sportster one. 60 PSI.

Hey Steve,
Here's my KZ. Bought it new for $3,250, I was 20 years old at the time. Resurrected it a few years ago when the oil gushing out the head gasket was saturating my shoes.
I did the same thing you did with the "D" gauges. Went through two, and discovered that they came apart from engine vibration the first time you hit red-line.
So I went with this liquid filled Marshall 0-15psi gauge.
The liquid filled can handle the vibration, but not the heat. As engine temperature rises, the pressure reading decreases due to the liquid expanding from heat. I even spoke with the tech guy at Marshall. And he said the best I can due is bleed the gauge when fully hot to relieve the pressure. Then it would be accurate hot, and read way high cold. Which is probably the better of the two, but I haven't tried it, and burned my hands, yet.
I did find this very cool gauge/test port adapter at JPcycles.

A word of warnig about this cheapo chinky ebay anodised aeroquip AN hose fittings. I had a 90 AN -8 swivel fitting, blew through it with a thumb over the end to check it and it leaks like a sieve. I used it on a low pressure oil breather vent, no probs. Risk it for adaptors and spacers maybe but any critical oil/fuel/turbo applications should have decent branded fittings imo.
The 'proper' forged anodised miltary spec aerospace fittings are expensive for a reason. False economy crashing a £20 million 747 for a chinky £1.99 fitting.

My Sportster gauge is oil filled and works good. Not as sexy as yours but good enough. I bought my Z1 when I was 21, it was a demo with 84 miles on it. $2300 in 75.

Thanks Steve. Lot's of people that see my bike say they "use to have one". Guys like us still do.
Hey, did you notice the side emblems are from an older LTD? Never liked the little square LTD/1000 it came with.
