I have a 81 kz550c that I am hard tailing and putting 12" apes on and would like to know if anyone has a line on extended cables that will work or what someone else might have done already.
any info would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to note the amount of slack in the stock cables. A tad more slack is okay, but with less, the cables might not fit. With a mid-cable barrel adjuster, you can probably go an extra 1/4" of slack. When I got lower handlebars, I ordered 750E cables, but the open cable wouldn't work because it had less slack than my stock cable. doh.
