Will old school MIkuni 29mm smooth bores work as a replacement for the BS34s on a GPZ? I want to run K&N pods and the BS34s are not pod friendly. I hear that the smooth bores are easy to jet for pods. Is this true and will they be a performance upgrade from my stock cards? Fire away!

I think you'd be better off with VM28's.if not VM26's.unless
your building a hot rodded motor with big bore kit ported head and big cams.

On my ZX750A1 motor which has a better flowing head and bigger cams then
your motor idle and just off idle is a bitch to tune.
Sudco lists a 25 pilot and a 125 main as a starting point for jetting
with VM29's on a 750 size motor due to a weak idle signal caused
by slow air flow.

Without getting into what's better or worse, I know that a Dynojet kit for your BS34 CV carbs will allow the bike to run nicely using pods and a header.
