Update:
So The Pearl, aka my 550, runs effing great. Sounds great. No smell of un-burnt fuel. It's just cold natured. I hear most KZs are.
Today I decided to plug up the air box hole that connects to the air suction system. I have a rubber plug that fit perfectly. But I bought two washers, a nut, and a bolt to keep it in place. The want to get it done at 11 pm got the better of me. I dropped a washer in the air box. Ugh. Then I got a magnet and dropped that in the air box.
Damn. So tomorrow I'll look for a long and windy thingamajig with a magnet at the tip. I'll pay $100 for it so I don't have to take off the carbs to get it. Or just go back to pods. I'M KIDDING! I've been wanting to get this air box back on. And I'm not going back.

This is how I plugged the hole.
The rubber plug I used was just a rubber bottom from a computer desk, or something similar. I put a 1.25" washer on both sides and a nut and bolt through it. Bam! Fit amazingly.
Here's my bike with the air box back on.
Quick question. That side cover is not from a M1, correct?
