i need to bump my idle up a bit but i don't know how to on this bike.

Very easy. Just turn the throttle stop screw in (clockwise) a little. It's the thumbwheel circled in red in the image below. Ed

As above, and set it when it is properly warmed up. These 550 mills are notoriously cold blooded and take quite a while to warm up, the 'choke' is either too much or too little. Learn to live with it,they are all like that in my experience.
