Carb jetting on 78 sr650
11 Apr 2015 08:09
I know this is a much discussed topic and I'm tired of wading through the massive content on line.
Bike is running great with a cleaned carb on the bench with pods and kerker 4 into 1 exhaust. However when I ride it bogs down and stalls. I'm thinking it is a jetting issue.
Which sizes should i buy? Need some help from seasoned vets who have a similar set up. Thx!

We need more info unfortunatly. How was it ruinng before and what configuration was the bike in. Still uave the stock carburators? You can run pods but many here will reccomend the factory air box, myself incmuded.
Also is eveything else.up to snuff, valve clearances, ingition, good battery?

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Everything else up to snuff. Wasn't running at all before. It sat under a tree for 10 years. Already cut the box out so no turning back with pods. This isn't a touring bike. Just trying to look cool with good performance.

For 1978 the SR came in 2 different versions the D1 and the D1A. The D1 came with vm24ss carbs and the D1A came with vm22ss carbs. The vm24ss carbs had a main of 102.5, and the vm22ss carbs had a main of 90.
