Slightly enriching the pilot circuits, say 1/8 turn, sometimes reduces or eliminates popping through the exhaust on deceleration.

Fair amount of folks will want you to keep the air box and I won't argue with them ... pods give you very little power and sometimes head aches but I've always preferred em.
When Swest asked about the air injector he was talking about the set up on the valve cover 78 models don't have it ...79 models do. Its A Emissions thing

1980 KZ750 cam, ape springs, stock clutch/ Barnett springs.
Vance and Hines Header w/ comp baffle and Ape pods, Dyna S and green coils, copper wires.
29MM smooth bores W/ 17.5 pilots, 0-6s and 117.5 main
16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.

Also bear in mind sometimes what you think is a fuelling problem might be ignition related , or even both at the same time as I had on mine recently. ( a pinhole in the carb diapragm, plus HT plug leads resistance too high and a lose timing plate)
, I'd clean up/replace the coil terminals, HT leads and plug caps to reduce the likelihood of it being an ignition misfire.
