I have a 1978 KZ650 I got with the tank disconnected and the pipes off from the previous owners nephew who moved away.

I go to put the tank on and I see this...

Where do I hook up the gas line to....this doesn't look right. What happened and how do I fix this.

The nipple got pulled out of the orifice when someone disconnected the fuel line. If you have the fuel line, the nipple may be stuck inside of it. So if you still have it, apply a sealant to the outside of the nipple & press it back in place. I used Permatex liquid metal. Another product to try is Seal-All --- available at some hardware stores.
