One carb leaks on 78 sr650 was created by Britome
I've done a total carb rebuild. Fuel streams out of one carb. Thought it was just the float adjustment but even when I took the float out and manually held the float valve needle all the way up, gas still steams out from somewhere higher.
Help please!

Could the o ring on the fuel inlet pipe have gotten torn or twisted during reassembly?

Can you tell where the fuel is comming from? Outside or inside? Could there be a small crack in the carb body?

So that hole in the carb is how the fuel dumps into this bowl. The plunger when fully seated doesn't stop the flow of gas out of that hole into the bowl. Therefore it eventually overfills the bowl and makes its way down the hole Is this overflow passage/jet

Manually pressing the needle into the seat should prevent any fuel flow through the float valve.
Perhaps the pointed end of the float needle is damaged, or the seat orifice is damaged, or the seat orifice isn't perfectly clean. Or perhaps the seat is loose or missing a washer gasket.
The tube inside the float bowl is an overflow tube whereby excess incoming gasoline may escape from the float bowl by passing out through a nipple located on the bottom of the bowl that usually has a hose attached which is routed to exit underneath the bike.
Fuel enters the float bowl through the float valve (needle and seat).
Fuel does not "enter" the bowl from the overflow tube.
Fuel "exits" the bowl through the overflow tube.

So the only culprit could be the float needle or the "orifice?" I like that word
