Tk22 throttle slide question

So I disassembled my carbs to clean an reject i' looked all over and I can't find how to reinstall the throttle slides. Does the cut away part of the slide goe toward the rear of the bike, or the front (engine side)?

They'll only go in one way - if you look, you'll see a groove and a bump that line up.
