Ps I know I am bucking the trend. Some years ago I saw a tubo-ed kz1000 and it had only one carb, I am not going to put a tubo I just like being different

No, you're not bucking a trend....you're bucking common sense and logic... IT IS just that simple. But it's your circus so you can make the animals dance anyway you please.... The mistake is in thinking the crowd will applaud when you turn a roaring lion into an armpit scratching monkey... :)

If you want to know how much air flow the carburetor needs to meet the piston demand..I'll be happy to give you that number. But remember this... A carburetor's primary job is to deliver the appropriate fuel curve for the entire RPM range of the engine. That's the part that's going to take some experimentation. I suggest you start with an old dirt bike carb fitted with a power jet, a slection of needles and a box of jets. If you want to know how many lbs of fuel per hour you need the carb to deliver, I'll give you that number as well... Then go have fun and holler back with the results... :)

Here's some reading material you may find useful in your endeavor.

Did you use top of the line performance cars and a picture of a Pontiac with 3 deuces in the same post? :S :woohoo:
Ls-6 454 in the 70 chevelle/L-88 427s were mostly single 4 barrel motors from gm,the original Lt-1 370hp 350s were single 4 motors, thats just a couple off the top of my head anyway
Motorcycle motors and car motors are 2 totally different animals as far as design and lay out.

That was the top of the line Pontiac at the time. It wasn't meant to be compared to other brands. However, even a single 4-barrel carb has multiple venturis whereas a typical bike carb has only 1 venturi. Perhaps I should have said "single barrel carb" instead of single carb. Try putting a single barrel carb on that 454!   Ed
