Carb kit problem was created by Nduetime
The ebay item id given is invalid, no result has been sentSo I purchased a pair of carb rebuild kits off of ebay. Listed as suitable for 1977 D4 and include the pentagon (5-sided) float bowl o-ring yet no indication of brand/markings...
However, kit arrived in the mail and it appears to have a round float bowl o-ring and is a K&L Supply 18-2447, like the one below which shows it as a round float bowl o-ring...
www.denniskirk.com/carburetor-repair-kit.p170557.prd/170557.sku
Can someone tell me if the float bowl orings come round and take shape of the 5-sided, pentagon, after use? Or do I actually need a pentagon shaped o-ring from the start? The parts diagram indicates it's already shaped but I'm not sure.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAm thinking pre-shaped:
Click here > www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?i...asaki&item=KL18-2634
But then here are these also:
Click here > www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?i...-1978&item=KL18-2447
And both styles are professed to fit KZ400-D4.
And these:

One of the many advantages of dealing with Z1 Enterprises is that they are very knowledgeable about this kind of thing and happy to personally discuss fitment applications, etc. with their customers.
Good Fortune!

Thanks Patton. The first link didn't work on my phone...I'll have to check tomorrow morning on my computer. If the first z1 link is for 18-2634 (pentagon) o-rings then that's the reason for my question. As you stated, two different shaped float bowl o-rings as suitable replacements.
The round one is pliable enough to conform to the shape of the float bowl track. Is it safe to assume it would work? I've read a tiny bit of superglue can be used to hold it in place during installation, I'm just not sure where the line is between standard practice and making due with something that's not ideal.

If the o-ring seems to be pliable enough, then I would probably go ahead & use it.
Related, the K&L petcock kit for my bike came w a round o-ring for the petcock body, but the groove is oblong. It's a fat o-ring but I was able to use it. It took some manual dexterity to get it to stay in place while bolting-on the petcock, but I got it done. An extra set of hands would've made it easier --- not really necessary, though.
