Float Level Check ???

Ordered the Clear Tube Float Tool from Z1 Ent. today along with various other parts.

When checking the Float Level on my VM26 Carbs. ( 77' KZ1000A ), can I just fill up one of the float bowls with Gas and check the level one carb. at a time? I thought about just standing up the carb. assembly up vertically on my work bench and testing each carb. individually with the Clear tube?
