So I'm looking at 29 smooth bore carbs.
Would like to know if they can handle up to 1200cc on my KZ?
Or should I save the money and by 34 flats life's?
Thx

Are CC's the limiting factor or would the limiting factor be the flow rate of the cylinder head? Ed

And the cams and exhaust system. On a really mild 1200, the 29s are probably adequate, bot on a really radical 1200, the 29s would be the weak link.

Theyre plenty of carb for a street driven 1197 motor,of course if you have to go out and buy a set you might be money ahead to just buy a set of new 29-31 cr specials. ;)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

I'm thinking 34's would be the ticket with plenty of porting. I have a 1075 kit with .410 cams and head ported to match the j boots and 31's and while I haven't ridden it yet I have a feeling...

I know the 29s were a good carb but in todays world I think you are foolish for paying big money for used carbs that I would bet have issues your best bet is the 34s or even the 36s I have used both on plenty of builds W/O issue now on the other hand if you want the old school carbs then 29s or 33s are it.
