1980 choke linkage questions
10 Sep 2014 12:27
hey, just bought a 1980 kz750 LTD. is the orange arrowed bit supposed to fit in the groove of the white arrowed bit? it wasnt when i got it. one was just resting on the other. and the return spring is all boogered up too, is that little spring supposed to close all 4 choke valves? or is the lever supposed to return it somehow. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance, I dont have a manual for this bike yet

Try finding the illustrated parts list/manual online. I found it more useful than the FSM when it comes to determine what goes where. Many of the online parts store use the old parts diagrams to identify parts for sale, so you can find info there too.

www.kawasaki.com/OwnerInfo/
On the right side of the screen, under Owner Info, choose Parts Diagrams. You will be prompted for additional info about your specific model, then you will be able to see the diagrams. From there you can also find out if th part is still available and which other models the part was used on.

awesome! thanks guys. I have it put together right but I have 2 things goin on. first the spring is weak and I believe the choke shaft is bent on one side. the carbs wobble when the brackets are off and you rotate the choke shaft. but only on the right 2 carbs
