I've used K&N's and Uni's, and didn't like either one. They cost too much for what they are, and the chemicals required cost a ton too. They were always messy. Your hands woud get coated with goo and grime anytime you went to adjust the carbs or do anything near them. They also deteriorated over time... definitely don't last forever. Plus it takes hours to wash, dry, re-oil, and install them properly, all the while you're dealing with nasty chemicals and more mess.
Then I tried the cheap, disposable Emgo pods. They were like $7 each instead of $25, and require no chemicals, always look clean and shiny because they are designed to run dry (do not oil them). The jetting was the same as with the other brands.

Me too, K&N Pods work great for me, I even run them in my car and truck. I think Lou has has had a bad experience, kind of like eating at a restaurant, and getting sick, then blaming it on the restaurant. :woohoo:baldy110 wrote: Thast odd, I have run the same K&N pod fillters on my 650 for 40 years now and have never had those issues. I've used K&N's on several cars and bikes. It's a bunch of unnecessary expense and labor. Maybe you need the extra power in the truck to haul around all those trophies!

I'm running k&n #rc222's, kind of a dual pod, and have been happy with them, they have been on my bike for 2 years with no notable indication for the need of maintenance. I guess if I lives in a dustier area of the country they might require more frequent cleanings.
