10,000 rpm's
11 Aug 2014 07:54
She spins up quick, without hesitation. :woohoo: The Dyna 2000 limiter is set at 10,500
The jets are 42.5 pilot and 130 now, with the "competition" baffle. :S
The motor is completely stock (with air box) . It purrs at idle, and otherwise roars.
Should I try larger jets?

It might spin to 10,000 rpms, but if it quits making power at 7500 whats the sense of beating it that hard?
It also plays hell on the rod and main bearings at that speed.

You're probably right...but she begs for it, and doesn't seem to mind it too much. It's not like I beat it constantly...just once in awhile, and with extra-care.

Great questions! I've examined the plugs, and the electrodes appear medium-light brown. The only smell (at idle) is from the crankcase ventilating through a K&N breather; no-longer feeding into the engine through the air box.
I'll pic the spark plugs later today.

She's there...I think.
It runs pretty good for using a low-tech Motion Pro Carb tool, and Gunson Colortune for the mix. It has never ran better (since I've owned it).
I'm done...just wanna ride! :woohoo:
