Hello

I am trying to iron out a flat spot that pops up around 60 MPH, My bike is stock, factory exhaust, paper filter, main jet 110, pilot jet 37.5, slide needle is in middle slot, I was reading if the pilot jet is too big or more them 2 turns out it will cause some problems like flat spots, for my bike to run right my pilots are set at 3 1/2 turns out, can anyone help, do I need smaller pilots?

Thanks
Curtis

First. it is really throttle position that counts. No mater what gear, you are no longer on your pilot jets at that speed. It sounds like the transition from the needle to the main is having an issue.
I would try adjusting the needle position, if it is adjustable.

I'll try that tomorrow if weather is good, is 3 1/2 turns on the pilot too much?

I fixed the problem I was having with the flat spot and the too many turns on the pilot jet, I found a air leak on my pilot needles, when I rebuilt my carbs the aftermarket carb kits had new pilot needles and o rings. The O rings are way too loose and small to make a seal in the pilot needle housing, I changed them out with a set of old needles with the right size o rings, This fixed all the problems.
