1977 KZ 1000 Carb Clean procedure

Hi All:

I am going to clean them to eliminate that as a source of some inconsistent running. Never done it before.

I have them off the bike, but still together on the rack. Is there a specific procedure for my VM 26's ? I am principally puzzled about the orifices; where they go to, do I plug something and blow spray expecting it to come out somewhere?...that kind of stuff. Inspecting and cleaning the jets seems fairly straight forward.

And...do I have to separate them off the rack?

Thanks All
Chris

However you decide to do it be sure to keep each carb's parts separate from those of the other carbs. They wear together and don't like to be mixed between carbs. Ed

My favorite way to clean carbs/injectors.
Pop the top and dump a big can of sea foam in the gas tank, then ride the wheels off of it!
Still recovering, some days are better than others.
