Where should the fuel level be along side of the carb using the clear plastic tubing method to set the float height on my 82 GPZ750 w/34mm Mikuni Cv carbs?

Here's the cut & paste from the Kawasaki Service Manual KZ750-R1 supplement. That supplement is for the 1982 750GPZ with Mikuni 34mm BS (CV) carbs. Take a look at this link if you don't have a manual. mbsween.bike-night.com/kz750l3/media/GPz750-full.pdf The last page in the link shows the models covered. The 1982 750GPZ is the R1. Ed

I have a set of BS34s off a KZ1000J that have float bowls without the over flow piece in them. All the screw does is drain them. Im going to try hooking some tubing on the bottom drain hole and put the petcock on prime and see if that works with those float bowls on the GPZ carbs
