Too late now maybe (auctions over), but the BS36's as used on the Suzuki GS1150 have thin black steel covers on top. The 34's have a nice thick aluminum covers.

Top caps don't look like the 36 caps I've seen. Interestingly, the top covers interchange between the 34's and 36's, for the Suzuki Mikuni versions anyway. Another thing is the Suzuki 36's in the US were black. Not sure about UK though.

BTW, here is a Mikuni BS CV rebuild tutorial. The carbs used for the tutorial are BS 36's. www.mtsac.edu/~cliff/storage/gs/Mikuni_B...Rebuild_Tutorial.pdf
