Have a 1980s (not exactly sure 80 or 82) KZ 250 LTD sitting in my garage. Been trying to fix it up for my wife since last two years (had to take a long break due to other priorities). The bike ran fine before it sat, except had two issues:
1. Started to sound like a diesel, except with no loss of power. So far, checked cam chain, cam tension, starter chain - all seem to be working fine. The tach cable came off and the tach gear will not come out - not sure if that is the issue.
2. Cannot choke the bike. If you do, the engine gets flooded so bad, gas comes out the exhaust pipes - not to mention gas starts pouring out of the overflow (guessing) tube in the carb.
Right now, trying to tackle the carb. Is there a replacement carb I can buy? Or should I just look into rebuilding the existing one?
