I just installed the set of 28 pumpers that i purchased from Jim @ Redline and took it for a quick blast on the highway. They performed great on the highway but lower rpm's around the nieghborhood i would get a slight PSSHH sound from the carbs, only did it like twice but it was there. I installed brand new manifolds, ngk B8ES plugs gapped at 32 and k&n oval air filters at the same time i installed the carbs. Runnin fresh 93 octane gas. I'm gonna ride it to work, maybe it was just a fluke.

68dave, did you tell Jim you were going ta use Pods ? he would have to jet them for -em,, some times it takes a few different jet settings to get them perfect, when he redid my engine, & sold me the R S 34 Mikuni flatslides I picked up the bike & it ran like shit, & had to bring it back for him to fix it

28mm carbs will be fine I have put them on a number of 1075 engines with ported heads cams etc they are plenty not worth the money to go with 29mm smoothbores In my opinion. i have done plenty W/O issue but I also dyno tune them with a wideband.

Jim asked me all the specs on my bike and i told him k&n air pods, dyna inigition/coils and a kerker w/baffle but i did tell him that a new V&H was in the near future. It runs real good and pulls hard. Only issue is that popping PSSHH sound at low rpm's. I'm gonna run it back & forth to work for a couple days then pull the plugs to see how she's runnin.

if you are going to a V/H header then you might as well wait till its installed it will require different jetting as the V/H has large radius bends out of heads to a smaller diameter collector verses the Kerkers short radius bends and large diameter collector in short V/H much better street pipe Kerker more for high rpm work.
