KZ750 spectre jetting? was created by Racewayelko
So I (two days ago) decided to upgrade to pod filters on my bike, not so much for performance ;) as it was cheaper to do then get new intake boots. The issue I have now is it runs super lean (go figure, give a bike more air and it runs lean) so much as I can't ride it up the driveway. My question is, what should I do? Turn the mix screw out? rejet? (if so to what) Shim the needle? all of the above? Thank you all

Keep it rubber side down everyone :)

Take a look at the listing below. It describes how to find info on pods. BTW, I suspect you will find new intake boots would have been a bargain. B) Ed

My dealer quoted me 66.09 when pods were 40.00 :P Also looked through some (about 20 or more) posts, I will try first cleaning (again) the carbs, then mix screw, but is there anything you can say that you know will/ wont work? btw thanks for refraining me from ripping me a new one

Not trying to rip a new one  You will end up buying jets, and quite possibly a few different flavors or a jet kit before finding a combination you can live with. Finding a combination that will let the engine run as well as the air box throughout the entire rpm range has been a challenge for many folks. I'm not saying it is impossible, but getting it done with the first set of jets is unusual. That's the reason for the comment about new intake boots being a bargain compared to pods. The cost of the pods is only part of the overall cost of eliminating the air box. Maybe someone here who has already gone through the rejetting exercise with the same model bike can give you a starting point. Ed
