KZ-440 "aftermarket" airbox build instructions.
28 May 2014 14:24 - 28 May 2014 14:25
One of the contributors at the Kawasaki Motorcycles forum just finished putting together a workable replacement airbox for the KZ-440. I don't know if he's a member here, but this is too cool to not post it here as well. This will be excellent news for KZ440 riders that struggle with the vagaries of the stock carbs on the 440 and don't have and can't find replacement airboxes.

Interesting. Sort of a dual pod kind of thing. I wonder if the airflow is similar to stock airbox.

He says that the performance is very close to the original. With everything else 'stock', it runs a little rich, but with a higher performance 4-into-1 exhaust, he says it works almost the same as stock.

Hi Guys,
Just to confirm, the filter flows very close to that of the stock airbox. Close enough to maintain OEM jetting on the carbs. The richness Cynjut mentioned was due to my exhausts being baffled up for a noise test. These have since been changed and it appears to be running nicely now

:woohoo: Balazs! Nice work! Where did you get the filter membrane from?
As long as I get to learn something, I'm happy!

The filter is a complete unit to suit Dellorto and Weber side draft carbs typically used on worked VW beetle motors etc. Bought off 3bay!
