650D2 install carb intake boots was created by Dozer
Guys...on the 650 D2 the old intake tubes were as hard as rocks. I bought a new set...nice and soft. However they are proving to be a PITA to install with the carbs on the bike. Anyone have any tips? I am tired of getting my hands chewed up from working inside of that airbox...
thanks
D

It helps to warm them in hot water prior to installation. I also found that a light coat of grease makes them a little more slippery and easier to install. Ultimately I called on the assistance of my wife (it's her bike anyways!) and she put them on  She has smaller hands than I do  Good luck! Paul

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Like Paul said, or you can ask your wife/girlfriend to
use her hair dryer to heat-em up & make-em more plyable

Okay...heat and a little lube..like KY?? LOL I have a heat gun and some DC4 silicone lub. I'll give that a try. I am getting ready to start it up again, adjust the pilot needles and see if I can sync these carbs.. If this motor is like other multi carb bikes I've worked on, the air inlet components and filter need to be completely assembled to get the best results.

Thank you

I'm gonna give it a try as mentioned above, but getting my wife to help will never happen...she absolutely hates motorcycles and doesnt want to be around them in any way, shape or form. So I am pretty much on my own. If I get it all together I'll report back with the results.

Thanks Pete
