Thank you Peter. Are these adequate carbs for a 1040cc with drop in aftermarket cams? Is there a better option?

They will work, But there are lots of better carbs out there. All depends how much money your willing to spend. 29 mm smoothbores would work nice. Those 28s are hard to keep in tune with all the linkage they have.
