Clacking sound ?

Is it just my carbs, or does anyone else get a clacking sound from their Mikuni R S 34 Flatslides at low speed ?

1980 LTD 1000..,1976 LTD 900, have the 1000&900 now. the rest are previous= 1978 KZ 650 B.., 1980 Yamaha XT 500..,1978 Yamaha DT 400.., 1977 Yamaha yz 80..,Honda trail ct 70.., Honda QA 50...5-1/2 hp brigs & straton CAT chopper mini bike...3-1/2 hp mini bike (WHEN GAS WAS ABOUT 45 CENTS A GALLON)!!!!

I have not installed my 34s yet, but I've heard them being called rattle slides before.

I have RS36's on my ELR clone and they do rattle, I like the sound. I guess the RS stands for "rattle slides."

Doing a vacuum sync may help with the noise, but not remove it. I also have the Rattle Slides, and at Idle it is way different than the stock carbs for noise. but they do run great, very tunable, parts pretty easy to get, Jets reasonable, etc. JetsRus has most everything and decent prices.

A really good carb synch will eliminate the majority of the rattle. The adjusters on those carbs are very touchy.

Thanks Larry, carbs were recently synched,, it's not loud or anything, ...it's just a sound I never heard with other carbs & wanted to know if it was normal, by the comments, I guess I've got nothing to worry about
