smaller air filter

i have a 79 kz400 and im wanting to to take side plates of and clean it up in there,wanting to know if all the aftermarket air filter ideas will involve jetting the carbs? i have stock pipes on the bike.

by aftermarket air filter do you mean removing the air box and running pods? If that's the case, yes you will need to re jet it.
