So i have an interasting issue, my bike starts and runs just fine while standing perfectly upright but as soon as you lean it slightly to one side it shuts off, i have removed the carbs and cleaned them sevral times with zero effect which leaves me to think that they need to be rebuild.

my question is which type of carb is on the 83? vm 26? as it seems its dam near imposible to find ANY carb parts for an 83 and there are tons for the 77-79, any one kno of any good aftermarket alternatives?

Thanks guys

I don't know what the problem is, but it could be electrical - with the bike upright & running, try turning the handlebars side to side. When it quits running, does it sputter n stop or does it quit like flipping a switch?

The 82-83 KZ650-CSR came w BS32 carburetors. Z1Enterprises.com has some of the carb parts.
Here's the supplement from the 81-83 650 manual that covers the 83 model.... kinda long, ain't it. hee.

Thats what i thought it was at first but them confirmed that it isnt electrical, turning the bars has zero effect on how the bike runs, how ever tilting it to the left or right makes it start chocking out, set it upright and she runs fine, its almost like all the floats are stuck, and as i said fidning parts is proving to be a pain in the rear end, but at least now i know the correct carb part number for it since its nowhere stamped on the actual carb itself.

I would do the service fuel level check to see what the fuel level is in each carburetor.
You also probably ought to remove the carbs from the bike, then remove the float bowls, & take a look, and at least do a cursory cleaning.
