Leaking petcock was created by Jershsmersh
I recently picked up an 82 kz750N1 for a steal. Of course it's had some issues along the way that I've worked out. The issue I'm having now is a leaking petcock. The vacuum control is not shutting off the fuel flow so I'm getting puddles of fuel not to mention flooded crank case. I don't want to buy a petcock rebuild kit because it will just happen again down the road. In the meantime I've put an inline shutoff valve on the fuel line but this is a temporary fix. What I need is a manual petcock, does anyone know of any aftermarket or perhaps oem petcocks from other bikes that will fit?

It's probably just a bad diaphragm in the old petcock. Check the crankcase for gasoline in your oil before starting the bike again

I would just rebuild the petcock. If done correctly it will last for many years.

If the bolt-hole spacing on your Spectre is 34mm,
here's a fuel valve topic with some options: KZR topic - Manual fuel valve option
