Help me ID these carbs and exhaust? was created by Killman
Like the title says, I could use a hand identifying these carbs., and the exhaust. Both are on an '81 KZ750Ltd, The exhaust is a left-hanger. The carbs are Mikunis, I want to order some new bolts for them and want to make sure I order the right set, (I know that I could take the crappy old ones and match them, but I'd rather just order a new set). The exhaust I'm just curious about.

Are you sure the carbs are Mikuni carbs? I do not see the name in any of the pics you posted. IIRC the stock carbs used on the 81 kz750 LTD or H2 model were a set of Keihin CV34 carbs. which to me is what the carbs in the pic look like.

I did notice that one of the pods (appears to be on carb#4) has a rip in it where it meets the carb. It would appear you need to replace it. If the others look the same they all need to be replaced.

As to your exhaust system, I can not tell from the 3 pics you posted. Will say it looks somewhat like the one I have on my 650 and it is a Denco. Note I am not saying that is what you have only that I do see some things that look the same. Can you post a better side viiew of the entire bike?

That's hilarious Nebr, answered on both sites

Thanks Nebr, that's what they seemed to be from the research I had done. Off of a GPZ model?

What would have been the advantage of making that swap? They're still CV carbs, correct? So even if I replaced those busted up pod filters with some K&N's, they could give me some throttle response issues, unless the PO's actually jetted right for the new configuration with the 4 into 1 as well?

I am not the guru, just trying to understand what I'm working with.

Thank you.
